Cajun Bowl
Ask 15 different people how they cook their fish, and you will get 15
different answers. Ask any outdoors person how he or she prepares their fish
or wild game; you’ll get the same response. It seems that sportsmen and
women alike all have their favorite recipes.
I personally like fish prepared virtually anyway; however fried fish is my
favorite. Cajun Injector has come out with some new items that will make
your “fish fry” a little smoother. For starters, they have a new Seasoned
Fish Fry Mix. I recently went on a successful offshore fish on the Scat Cat
out of Port Aransas, Texas, and a full limit of Red Snapper. The night I
came home I wanted to treat my wife and children to a homemade fish fry.
This is one of my specialties
I began by filleting my catch, and cutting into thin pieces. I personally
like the American Angler electric fillet knife. I also like to cut my fish
into thin pieces when I fry it so it is crispy.
Cajun Injector also makes a “batter bowl” which takes away the messiness of
battering your fillets. You simply take the Fish Fry Mix, place it in the
batter bowl, dip the fish in milk and egg, and then put the fillets in the
batter bowl, close it, shake it well, and it’s ready for the frying pan.
Another option is to dip it in Cajun Injector Lemon Butter Garlic instead of
the milk and egg, which adds a terrific flavor. Deep fry at 350 until golden
brown. I choose to use peanut oil when I’m frying. It’s reusable, has a very
good heating point and doesn’t maintain the taste of the fish, making it
perfect for the remainder of my treat (I threw in my french fries, hush
puppies, jalapenos and onion rings). Then all was ready. What a treat we had
that night!
Bruce Foods recently acquired Cajun Injector. They have incorporated an
entire new line of products, including Louisiana Gold Hot Sauce, numerous
new marinades, single injection Cajun Injector mixes and seasoning mixes. Be
sure to check out all the new varieties and products!
